★ Brother & Sister Dorms ★
At Notre Dame, there are 32 dorms on campus. Each year, two to three of these dorms become our brother and sister dorms! Throughout the school year, our brother/sister dorm commissioner will plan events with the commissioners of the other dorms, setting up fun events for us to grow closer to our sibling dorms. In the past we have had brother/sister service events, Grotto masses, shared section events, game watches, and more!

Brother Dorm: Alumni
Sister Dorm: Pasquerilla West
For our signature event SNSA, we asked residents of Alumni and Pasquerilla West (nicknamed PDub) to participate in our social media campaign that got campus celebrities and friends of PE to answer Christmas-related questions to hype up our event. Our 12 Days of SNSA was a huge success in part due to our amazing brother/sister dorms! Check out the SNSA highlight on our Instagram (@pepyros) to watch their responses!

This past year was the 40th anniversary of the Pasquerilla residence halls, so we had to celebrate with our sister dorm! Our apparel commissioners collaborated with PDub's to create this design for our 40-year celebration t-shirt. Many of the residents in both dorms purchased this shirt in their spring 2021 apparel orders, and we all proudly wear it in support of both the East and West Pasquerillas!
2019-2020
Brother Dorm: Dunne
Sister Dorms: Flaherty & Farley
One of the fun traditions between brother/sister dorms is occasionally hosting Hall Council together. This way, the sibling dorms can know what events are going on in each dorm and support each other! One of the fun things we got to do at joint hall council with Dunne was a "Dunne Debate." In this, a commissioner from Dunne and a commissioner from PE would debate questions like "Is gravity real?" and winner was chosen by a combined hall vote. This makes for some fun points like "Well, birds can fly, how would they do that if there was gravity?" and counterpoints like "I wouldn't trust something that's obviously controlled by the government..."
In fall 2019, we got to show our fiery Pyro spirit to Farley Hall with a bonfire! As the autumn night chill of Indiana swept in, we didn't have to worry about being cold thanks to the warmth of the fire (and our dorm friendship!). We also roasted marshmallows for some yummy s'mores to eat as we gathered around the fire with the residents of Farley.

During the hectic semester full of classes, clubs, events, and more, it's hard to find some time to relax. Knowing this, Flaherty hosted a spa night with us to further our relationship between dorms and to help both dorms rejuvenate and have some me-time. Complete with face masks, nail polish, and of course, snacks, this spa night was a perfect way to bond with Flaherty and relax for awhile amidst the fun chaos of campus life.

I have so appreciated the close relationships I formed during my first year at ND, and I hope that with this role I can help facilitate some of those same relationships for others. I also really enjoy being creative and planning events, so I am looking forward to seeing all we can do with Keenan (I will be sure to fight for a good Keenan Revue shout out) and PDub this year! |
