So you just found out your ND student is going to be a Pyro? ★ Congratulations! ★
We're so grateful that you have entrusted your student to us! |
Parents, thank you for the precious treasure you've sent our way: that beautiful young woman with the sparkle in her eye and the passion that inspires her heart. We're honored and humbled to have her under our roof, and we're excited to accompany her as she is formed in the unique experience that is a Holy Cross education. We know that as we do this, we're always partners with you... and that you began this work long, long ago.
You'll probably find it helpful to review the pages on this website that introduce our hall staff and their roles. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the Rector any time if we can be of service to you. Rector 574-631-7200 |

Want to give your Pyro a pick-me up?
Notre Dame has its own cake service that will deliver cakes and other baked goods directly to your student's residence hall. We also have an on-campus flower shop, which will deliver flowers to students.
Finally, if you want to send a care package to your Pyro, feel free to make one at home and send it to PE, or get one of the University's Exam Care Packages! These are especially appreciated during a stressful finals or midterms week.

Domer Dollars
You can load money onto your student's ND ID card at any time by following the instructions here. You'll just need to know their netID. Ask your student for theirs, because long last names are cut off and common last names are often given numbers. They'll be able to use Domer Dollars in many of the restaurants and cafes on campus, with some off-campus (including Chipotle). Most meal plans also come with flex points, which are similar to Domer Dollars, but they can only be used at food vendors on campus (this does include the Huddle, which acts as a convenience store, offering everything from drinks and snacks to school supplies and soap).
Campus Safety
NDPD: The University has its own police force, which works around the clock to ensure that campus is a safe environment. They even have a special squad of officers who patrol the dorms at night. You can contact NDPD at any time at (574) 631-555. See their website for more information.
NDFD: The University also has its own fire department, which is always ready in the case of an emergency. They run drills regularly in all the halls. See their website for more information.
O'SNAP: If students ever feel unsafe walking between campus buildings at night, the University has O'SNAP, the Student Night-Time Auxiliary Patrol, which is a free transportation service for students during the evening hours. Students can request a ride by simply calling the NDSP number or through the ND Mobile app.

Welcome Week
This is the University's official welcome to all students, from First Year Students to Transfer Students. You can find more information about Welcome Week on the official Welcome Week website, and on the Welcome Week section of this website.
Want to come for a visit?
The University does not have an official "Parents Weekend" each year, but many parents come in for a football game or a short visit every once in a while. Pasquerilla East Hall welcomes parents and other important adults each year during our "Women's Weekend" and our "Rad Lads and Dads Weekend," usually held in the Spring Semester. You can find out more about those weekends here.
Junior Parents Weekend: This is a university sponsored weekend for juniors to bring their parents and guardians to campus for a weekend full of fun activities. Please see the JPW Website for more information.

Finally, don't forget to pray! |
Lord, I thank you for the precious child you have given me, and for these golden days of summer before they return to school. Please, prepare the path for them and prepare their heart to meet the joys and challenges that they will experience as an independent adult. Please prepare my heart, too, for this new stage in our relationship. Give me wisdom to know when to speak and when not to speak. Give me understanding as they grow, change, and question. Grant me peace as I let go of the many things that are out of my control. Please help us to trust your plan and guidance, and to always know your protection. Amen.
