★ Have Any Questions? ★
Here are some commonly asked questions! If you can't find the answer to your questions here or anywhere else on the site, please do not hesitate to DM us on Instagram or contact any of the Welcome Weekend leaders!
Why does my room number start with 6/7/8? Are there 8 floors?
When PE and PW were built, to avoid confusion with the mail carriers, PW floors are numbered 1-4, and PE floors are number 5-8. So there aren't 8 floors - there's just 4! Our rector lives on the 5th floor (1st floor), and all of our residents live on the 6th floor (2nd floor), the 7th floor (3rd floor), or the 8th floor (4th floor).
I saw that the RAs and WW leaders listed the sections that they live in. How do I know what section I'm in?
On each floor, rooms 1-25 are on A side, and rooms 27-51 are on B side. So, here's what your room number means:
601-625 ⭑ You're in 6A
627-651 ⭑ You're in 6B
701-725 ⭑ You're in 7A
727-751 ⭑ You're in 7B
801-825 ⭑ You're in 8A
827-851 ⭑ You're in 8B
My housing assignment lists 3 roommates. What type of room will I be in?
Congrats! You're in a quad. Quads are made up of three identical 10' x 12' rooms with adjoining doors. Most people put two people in each of the outside rooms, and use the middle room as a common room. Check out the Room Specific Advice page for more Quad info.
Is there anything I should bring when I move in that I wouldn't necessarily think of?
Some items that we thought of include a mini tool kit (including a screwdriver and a hammer), a small fan (it gets warm during the summer months even though we have AC), a coat rack (really comes in handy during the winter), a long phone charger if you plan to loft or bunk, your heavy coat (you'll need it early than you'd expect), duct tape, command strips, and a few power strips (with surge protectors).
Do I need to bring a futon?
Although entirely not necessary, we definitely suggest adding a futon to your room if you have the space! It's totally up to you and your roommate(s), but it's perfect if you have guests over to watch an episode of your favorite show, or room for an older sister to spend the night!
